Were the AMerican Girl Tags on the dolls ever mispelled?

did AG themselves ever mispell their own tags so that they said (American Gril) instead of American Girl? why I am wondering is because the Lindsey I just purchased has the Girl mispelled in her tag.... She is not a fake is she? I have compared her to the pic of a fake in the sticky and she does not look like the fake it is only her tag that is weird. help please!

Yes, a lot of authentic AG Lindseys have their tags misspelled as "American Gril"--that's why some of the fakes were spelled that way, in imitation of the real ones.

Rest assured that you do have a real deal doll who is VERY lovely - A lot of the Lindsey's have the American Gril.

Now that my interest was piqued do you mind if I as were you able to find the Add in a Newspaper or on Craigslist - I often wonder how to begin even looking around since It never seems to be in our Local Papers, but maybe in a bigger publication....
